We have a Crafternoon every Tuesday at the Mulberry Street Library. Sometimes we make bracelets, sometimes we make greeting cards. But last month we were able to play with 3D.

You may not know this, but the library has a department called NYPL Labs that creates exciting ways for patrons to explore our vast digital collections. One of these projects was the Stereogranimator. According to the website, the Stereogranimator is an online tool that transforms historical stereographs into animated images OR 3D images. Read more about how this tool came to be!

The teens at Mulberry decided to try it out but didn’t have any 3D glasses, but no worries! We make our own!

It turns out it's not that difficult to make your own 3D glasses and it's pretty fun to decorate them and make them your own. Check out the how-to that we used (from NASA!) and make your own glasses today!
