On-Site Recruitment: Access-a-Ride Drivers

The New York State Department of Labor and GVC II will present an On-Site Recruitment for Access-a-Ride Drivers  on Friday, April 11, 2014, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  at the New York State Department of Labor, 400 E. Fordham Road, 7th Floor, Bronx, N.Y. 10458.

Position(s):ACCESS-A-RIDE DRIVERS (20 OPENINGS) - JOB ORDER NUMBER - NY1085428 JOB SUMMARY: GVC II is seeking full and part time Access-a-Ride Drivers to load and unload passengers on vehicles.  Assist, pick up and drive disabled passengers to their designated drop-off locations. Paid training is available.

Job Requirements: Vehicle Operators shall not have any one of the following:

no more than 4 points accumulated in the last 3 years, no conviction for driving any vehicle while impaired or intoxicated in the last 5 years, any punitive suspension or revocation of license in the last 3 years, 3 or more moving violations in the last 3 years, or 3 or more at-fault accidents in the last 3 years.

Candidate must have the ability to read maps and ability to speak, read and write the English language, and familiarity with the 5 boroughs of New York City.

Candidate must have a valid New York State Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement, unrestricted and in effect for 3 years, 

must be at least 21 years of age, and

NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law Article 19-A and 21 NYCCRR Part 6 of the NY State DMV regulations, including the physical examination requirements.

A drug and alcohol test administered in accordance with FTA regulations, and a NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services and FBI fingerprint check is required.

Wages: $13.50 per hour
