On February 2, 1882, legendary modernist writer James Joyce was born in the suburbs of Dublin, Ireland. The author of Ulysses, Finnegans Wake, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is best known for his stream-of-consciousness writing style, full of onomatopoeia, playfulness, and some pretty out there made-up words.
