Looking for a career in hospitality?
The Chinese-American Planning Council, Workforce Development Division, provides a free training program in hospitality careers.
The curriculum for this program is from the American Hotel and Lodging Association which is the sole national association representing all sectors and stakeholders in the lodging industry, including individual hotel property members, hotel companies, students and faculty members, and industry suppliers.
This is an 8-week training program, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This training program includes:
- Introduction to hospitality industry
- Organization and structure of hotel
- Communication skills
- Job readiness skills
Participants will learn the skills needed to obtain various types of entry-level jobs in a hotel such as:
- Room Attendant
- Houseman
- Kitchen Stewards
Average salary is $13.66 per hour
There will be job placement assistance for graduates.
Minimum Eligibility- 18 years old and up
- 8th grade reading level
- U.S. work authorized
- High School diploma/GED preferred
In order to apply, you must attend an orientation which is held every Monday at 9:30 a.m.
